Juan was homeschooled for the majority of his life and has been involved in various activities throughout his life. He volunteered in Meals on Wheels delivering meals to the elderly and homebound. He participated in the Pre-Freshman Engineering Program (PREP) for four years, during which he received a partial scholarship to St. Mary’s University due to a high overall grade in the program. He played baseball and sang in choir throughout high school. He has helped in events such as the Texas Science and Engineering Fair, Friday Nights Celestial Lights at UTSA, and the Conferences for Undergraduate Women in Physics (CUWiP) as an active member of Society of Physics Students.
Juan’s hobbies include playing guitar, learning new languages, and reading. He hopes to continue pursuing physics and being active in the community.
